Hey, Clock Fans – a short time ago we briefly introduced you to our Video Alarm Clock.

But now we’re back with a demonstration video that shows you the Video Alarm Clock in action, and demonstrates just how easy it is to begin using just about any YouTube video as your own wake-up sound for our Online Alarm Clock:

For those of you who’d rather read about this, the newest addition to our family of Online Alarm Clocks, we’ve taken the trouble to transcribe the video’s narration below.

So, feel free to either listen and watch the video above or else just read our transcript of it below…or both! Because we’d really like to show you just how cool this new video alarm function is. (This is evolution in Online Alarm Clocks, folks!)

Just imagine: the alarm sounds for our alarm clock are now limitless…because not only can you use any video you can find on YouTube as your alarm sound (as long as the video’s owner(s) has allowed “embedding on external sites”), but you can also immediately begin to create your own videos with the purpose of uploading them to YouTube and then using them as your own special alarm on OnlineClock.net. 

Using online videos as your alarm clock is a bit of a new concept, so the purpose of this post is to show everyone what this is all about and, as with all of Online Clock’s products, just how easy it is to use.

Yes, we’re sorry if we’re gloating here a little bit, but we really do think this new Video Alarm Clock is, errr, alarmingly good (ouch).

So, without any further blah blah blah, here is the narration from our demonstration video:

My name’s Tom and I’m the creator of the original Online Alarm Clock at OnlineClock.net.

Today I’m here to show you our brand new Video Alarm Clock.

To access our Video Alarm Clock, just go to OnlineClock.net/video in your web browser…and the first thing you’ll need to use our Video Alarm Clock is a video.

So, we suggest going to YouTube and searching for some kind of a video that will interest you. And, when you find a [web] page with a video on it, go ahead and copy the link to the YouTube video and enter it into our Video Alarm Clock.

Here you’ll see a preview of what this video will look like as an alarm.

If you’re satisfied with it, click “Set This Video As Your Alarm“.

You see a confirmation page that [confirms] your alarm has been set to this video…so you can hide it…and then the only last thing you need to do is to set your desired alarm time.

…For demonstration purposes I’ll set it to the current time.

And when the alarm goes off we see that it’s the video that you’ve chosen!

So you can go ahead and turn off the alarm.

And your Video Alarm has been saved for next time.

So – that is the Video Alarm Clock at OnlineClock.net/video !

It really is that easy to use, people, and even easier if you simply add our Video Alarm Clock Bookmarklet to your web browser.

We’ve had a lot of fun coming up with the concept for our new Video Clock, and even more fun developing it, so we really want to get the word out about it, as you can imagine.

Okay, Clock Fans, after our long post earlier in the week, we’re going to release kind of a quickie here.

This is a simple post about a truly fun game that you can play using one of our online clocks.

Some time ago, we’d posted an article about the groovy Five Second Stopwatch Game from Japan.

The Five Second Stopwatch Game is a mega-simple game in which you start a stopwatch, close your eyes, and then try to stop the stopwatch again EXACTLY when five seconds has elapsed…while keeping your eyes closed the whole time.

The whole point is to, without looking at the stopwatch, try to guess as accurately as possible when five seconds has passed.

Sound simple?

It isn’t – try it and find out!

It may sound a little like a stupid game, but it’s actually a whole lot of fun…and strangely addictive, too.

We’ve created a Stopwatch Video demonstrating how you can play the Five Second Stopwatch Game using our Online Stopwatch:

Online Clock has been around since March of 2006, and we’re extremely happy that we’ve become so popular over time.

Just about everyone seems to know about our main online alarm clock, but what some of you might not be aware of is that we offer a lot of other kinds of clocks and timers which you can’t find directly on our website’s start page.

Take our Analog Alarm Clock, for instance.

Our Analog Clock has been online for some time now, but only a few of you have seemed to have discovered it. So this post is attempting to correct this!

Please take a look at our Analog Alarm Clock video below, in which we demonstrate the analog version of OnlineClock.net:

As its name suggests, our Analog Alarm Clock uses a round clock dial instead of the digital clock display for which we’ve become so famous.

You might find it interesting to note that our Analog Clock has been created using 100% JavaScript and actually doesn’t use a single image, unlike our main Alarm Clock which uses images for the digital clock’s numerals.

As far as clock users are concerned, there seem to be two distinct types of humans on this planet:

1. Digital Clock Users
2. Analog Clock Users

For whatever reason, though I’ve personally always preferred digital clocks for my entire life, just about every girlfriend I’ve ever had has preferred analog clocks.

Is this just a coincidence, or could it possibly be that men generally prefer digital clocks while women tend to prefer the analog kind?

Indeed, whenever I plan on purchasing a new watch, there has always been a debate with my girlfriend over what kind of watch I should buy. I always want to purchase a digital watch, but my girlfriend always argues that analog watches look finer, more elegant.  Of course, I’ve always stuck to my guns and purchased a digital watch anyway. After all, it’s my wrist that it’ll be worn on!

Here at Online Clock, we want to count all of you–digital clock people and analog clock people–among our website’s regular users, and for this reason we’ve gone ahead and created our Analog Alarm Clock.

We have an exciting announcement for you today, ladies and gentlemen.

Here at OnlineClock.net world domination headquarters, the excitement has been building up for months regarding this fateful event.

Yes, indeed: we hereby officially announce the Start of Web 5.0.

Web 2.0 was about user-generated content and the Social Web.

Web 4.0 just sounds stupid…so we decided to skip it.

To summarize our Countdown Video, here are the most important points to remember, when using our Online Countdown:

1. Our Countdown Timer can be found at http://countdown.onlineclock.net.
2. As a default target date, until you’ve selected your own target date and time, our Countdown will automatically display the time remaining until the next Friday at 5:00 p.m. (your own time zone will be detected automatically).
3. Click the text link marked “change“ underneath the clock numerals to select your own target date and time.
4. When you click on the “change” link a small pop calendar will appear. This is what you should use to select your own target date and time.
5. When choosing your target date/time, the last thing you select should be the day of the month; when this is clicked on the popup calendar will close  and your countdown will begin.
6. Our Online Countdown saves your selected target date and time via a “cookie” in your web browser. This means you can close our countdown web page and revisit it several days later…your countdown will reappear, still counting down to your target date and time.
7. If you ever visit our Countdown site after your target date and time has elapsed, the alarm will go off automatically, reminding you that your countdown has finished.

That’s how you use the Online Countdown at Countdown.OnlineClock.net, folks!

It’s incredibly simple, just like all of our other online clocks and timers.

As you’ll discover in watching the video above, the name Space Clock came to us simply because we’d already had a clock named Binary Clock.

The Space Clock is really just a different kind of graphic representation of a Binary Clock.

Here are some quick facts about OnlineClock.net’s Space Clock:

2. The Space Clock, like most of our clocks, has customizable options for clock size & background color.
3. The current time can be read on the Space Clock by adding up the small gray numbers found in the red bars.
4. The red bars on the left represent Hours; the red bars in the middle represent Minutes; and the red bars on the right represent Seconds.
5. Our Space Clock, though it looks, errr, kind of different, is indeed a fully functioning alarm clock, and it can wake you up just as effectively as the annoying alarm you’re so familiar with on our main Online Alarm Clock.

The OnlineClock.net Clock Radio is the first application of its kind: it’s an alarm clock radio you can use for free in your web browser.

As we’d originally done with the alarm clock back when OnlineClock.net first went online, we’ve now taken the old-fashioned concept of a clock radio and have adapted it for online use.
