Binary Clocks are cool new representations of time, tailor-made for geeks like us. You know the type: people who work in the internet industry in some shape or form and who are constantly online. The kind of person who starts to break into cold shivers when separated from his laptop for too long. The kind of person who uses an Online Alarm Clock instead of the more conventional kind of alarm clock like the one your grandmother has next to her bed.

Binary Clocks display a binary representation of Sexagesimal Time.

Sexagesimal Time simply means that it’s based on the number 60. Which makes sense, when you think about clocks. A Binary Clock uses a binary representation of this 60-based time system, and binary here simply means that it uses either “on” or “off” or “zeroes” and “ones” or “black” and “white” or “yes” and “no” or…or any other kind of binary state. I think you get the idea.

In True Binary Time, a numbering system like the one shown in the table below is used to display the current time in binary format:

Hours Minutes Seconds
32 1 1
16 1 1
8 1 0 0
4 1 1 0
2 1 0 1
1 0 1 0
14 53 50

You can see exactly this kind of number system on our Binary Alarm Clock. (To the best of our knowledge, we have the world’s only Binary Online Alarm Clock!)

We’ve placed a legend or key online next to our Binary Clock that you can toggle on or off as you wish – this makes learning to read the time on our Binary Clock much easier, especially if it’s your first time trying to read the time on a Binary Clock!

Binary Clocks represent a cool, fun and educational new way of reading and displaying the time, and if you’re a geek like us you should definitely check them out.

If you become a fan of Binary Clocks, these days there are many different kinds of binary clock products on the market which you can purchase: binary wall clocks, binary wristwatches and even binary alarm clocks displaying the time in the geek-friendly Binary Time Format.

So – Get hip.

Get geek.

Get binary.
