Clock Bookmarks
When we added our Clock Radio function earlier in the year, we added the ability for our users to bookmark any of the various online radio stations or radio station genres.
This make is easier for you, as a user of our Clock Radio, to find your favorite stations and keep returning to them. Similarly, if you prefer a specific kind of radio station, such as Talk Radio or Punk Rock music or Rap, you can also bookmark the list of radio stations belonging to that genre and then easily return to that page with one easy click on your bookmark.
For us the addition of this bookmark feature was truly rewarding, because we’re now seeing with pride that dozens and dozens of unique bookmarks are being created by users of our Clock Radio each week.
Not only is this information useful - to see how popular our Clock Radio function is among users - but it’s also extremely interesting to see which of the various bookmarking services our users prefer:
To us it was pretty clear that normal browser “Favorites” would be the bookmarking method of choice, but who would’ve thought that so many users would save bookmarks on Facebook and MSN Live? This was a complete surprise to us.
It was also surprising to see how dominant the Google Bookmarks service is becoming. We hear a great deal in the media about most of Google’s other products, but for some reason Google Bookmarks is seldom mentioned or discussed online. Maybe it’s about time the world took notice that Google Bookmarks is becoming a huge success?
And what kind of stations on our Clock Radio are Online Clock’s users actually bookmarking, anyway?
Here’s a list of the top ten most bookmarked kinds of radio stations on our Clock Radio, starting from the most popular and working our way down:
- Metal Radio Stations
- World Music Radio Stations
- Funk Radio Stations
- Alternative Radio Stations
- College Radio Stations
- Industrial Radio Stations
- New Country Radio Stations
- Rock Radio Stations
- Urban Radio Stations
- Rap Radio Stations
As you can see, there are quite a few surprises here.
For example, who would’ve thought that Metal would be our most popular kind of Clock Radio Station?
And Funk music - we love it, personally, but who would’ve thought that it’s still so popular?
This is fascinating stuff for us, to know what our users are listening to.
We hope that this short look behind the scenes at OnlineClock.net and the Online Clock Radio has been interesting for you, too and that you’ll continue to use our website and bookmark the stations you like the most.
