Phone Alarm Wristband - The Bluetooth Bracelet

Hey fans of all things clock and alarm related – we found a cool new alarm gadget that’s so innovative that we just had to write a blog post about it

We always like discovering new kinds of alarms!

Let’s say that you’re waiting for an important call but you’re going out to a nice restaurant. Or, even better, you’re going out to the movies.

Sure, every mobile phone these days offers a vibration alarm for those times when you don’t want to annoy others with a loud alarm ring.

But now there’s an even cooler solution to the need for a silent alarm: the Phone Alarm Wristband – perhaps a good companion to the Telephone Alarm Clock we’d blogged about some time ago.

The Phone Alarm Wristband is a new gadget that works using Bluetooth technology.

Without fully geeking out, Bluetooth technology is a kind of short-distance wireless data protocol that’s usually used with mobile devices…devices like this bracelet!

What happens is that, the next time you’re expecting a phone call on your cell phone, or the next time you simply want to give your phone’s ringing a little break, you simply don this cool Bluetooth wristband.

Then, when a call comes in, the wristband will vibrate. Even when your mobile phone is quite a distance away from your wristband!

We think this is a cool piece of technology and a very novel kind of alarm.

While researching the subject of these Phone Alarm Wristbands we’ve found a couple of different varieties of them. First there is the simple kind, which has no display and simply vibrates when you have an incoming call. But even better are the Phone Alarm Wristbands with a digital LCD display on them, like the one demonstrated in the video shown below.

…And somewhere on the net there’s even a version of the Wristband Alarm that comes complete with a speaker-phone – now that’s what we call science fiction!

As you’ll see in the video, the display not only tells you when you’re connected or disconnected to your mobile phone via Bluetooth: it also shows you the Caller ID of the incoming caller. This is a really cool feature, we think…together with the fact that this Phone Alarm Wristband also has a button that you can press to ignore any incoming call, so that the wristband will stop vibrating!

Did you notice in the video that you can actually charge this gadget via the USB power charger that comes with it? We think this is also a nice feature in order to save money on batteries…

One of the unfortunate drawbacks of such a device, however: it doesn’t notify you when you receive text messages – just phone calls!
