Twenty-Four Clocks Combined

The Clock Clock shows time digitally via combining twenty-four separate analog clock faces.

The Clock Clock is another case of designers having created an alarmingly (excuse the pun) new kind of clock.

As we’ve reported in past posts about striking new clock designs, designers seem to have a special penchant for redesigning clocks.

One reason for this could be the fact that clocks surround us in our daily lives and are often taken for granted. Taking something so basic and utilitarian such as the clock and redesigning it into a completely new form is a sure way of displaying raw, unadulterated talent as a designer.

It’s in this spirit that we give you “The Clock Clock” by a Swedish design group called Humans Since 1982 (but don’t expect to be seeing this wild clock for sale at Ikea any time soon!):

The Clock Clock is an innovative digital clock comprised of 24 separate analog clock dials.

As the caption to the image above indicates, if you look closely at The Clock Clock, you’ll find that the digital clock’s face is actually composed of 24 separate analog clock dials.

The 48 separate hands on the analog clock dials revolve around and then stop to form digital numerals showing the correct time.

It’s a great idea, and represents a truly witty combination of analog and digital clock faces.

Like many of the more cutting-edge clock designs, The Clock Clock is apparently not yet available to purchase What you are seeing in the images and videos in this post is unfortunately just a prototype; so let’s hope that The Clock Clock receives so many positive reviews that these cool clocks become available soon in stores!
